today we invited 2 of our cute neighbors over to make goop and play-doh. i had to laugh as i was making the play-doh, i remembered my mother-in-law {she was a kindergarten teacher} telling me a story about when she would make play-doh my father-in-law always thought she was making something yummy. we love and miss our family so much!

anyway, here is the goop recipe {i got this recipe from lukes speech therapist, who use to come to our home}. i love it because it is not as sticky, messy as play-doh and i only made half of the batch.

mix: 1 C cold water
2 C white glue
add: 5 Tbsp. of borax {its a cleaning item}
1 C hot water

and many of you i am sure know how to make play-doh but if you do not, this was the recipe we made and liked it.

1 C flour
1 C warm water
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. oil
1/4 C salt
food coloring

mix all ingredients, adding food coloring last. stir over medium heat until smooth. remove from pan and knead until blended smooth. place in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled so it will last a long time.

i also found out how to get play-doh off of clothes {our neighbor got some fresh hot play-doh on her shirt}. put the clothing item in the freezer, dry, after a few hours take it out and the play-doh should flake off.
